Easter on Ice at Chaparral Ice in Austin, Texas | April 23, 2011

There aren’t very many events that include two of my favorite things: figure skating and pageants. Therefore, I was extremely excited when I got the chance to make a special appearance at the I-35 location of Chaparral Ice for their Easter on Ice event. This event included an Easter Egg Hunt, live bunny exhibition, and of course, an Easter Bunny skating on the ice! There was even a canned-food drive benefitting the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. It was great to see the kids enthusiastically interact with each other and have such a great time, while learning skills on the ice that they can’t get anywhere else. The children who participated in the Egg Hunt were like lightning! It was all over in under 5 minutes and there must have been at least two to three hundred eggs out in the back lot.

Getting away from my traditional school schedule and taking some time to feel the cold air on my face and skate always makes everything feel just right. I can never express how I feel when I’m floating around on ice. I encourage everyone to hit up an ice rink this summer during the warmer days! You won’t regret it!

Enjoy the photos below :)

The back lot of Chaparral Ice before the Egg Hunt took place. Look carefully, you’ll see TONS of eggs!
