Plano International Festival | October 2, 2010

Plano was recently voted the safest city according to Forbes Magazine, but Plano is also known for its diversity. The Plano International Festival is held annually in October at Haggard Park and is always a great success. The Parade of Nations brings color and vibrance to a beautiful afternoon along with a great display of culture.

This year, (my 5th year with the International Festival!) I was one of the flag-bearers for Vietnam and I must say, it was definitely an honor. After the Parade of Nations, the Vietnam Cultural booth got MANY visitors! Helping children fill out their passports by naming the Capitol, Continent, and Language Spoken for Vietnam was a fun and educational way for children to learn about different countries. Members of Saturday Ocean came out to support and we have a great time chit-chatting while manning the Vietnam booth answering questions, helping with passports, and of course, preparing for the Fashion Show. The fashion show is always fun and being able to wear my crown was just a plus ;)

Handing a child back his stamped passport. He was so sweet.

Our table hard at work with all the visitors who stopped by. Go Vietnam! :)

Aren’t these two little girls just precious?
